Members present: Chairperson Angel, Wright and Buck.
It was moved by Buck, seconded by Angel that the Agenda, as
proposed, be approved. Motion carried.
It was the recommendation of the Fire Department that the
following clothing bids be approved:
Helmets Smeal Fire Equipment Co. , Inc. $93.00 each
Boots Smeal Fire Equipment Co. , Inc. 69.00 pair
Gloves Ed M. Feld Equipment Co. , Inc. 22.50 pair
Suspenders Clarey's Safety Equipment, Inc. 16.17 pair
PBI Hoods Smeal Fire Equipment Co. , Inc. 10.50 each
Face Shields Clarey's Safety Equipment, Inc. 16.75 each
It was also the recommendation of the Fire Chief that the
protective clothing (coats and pants) be rebid and submitted
to the Finance Committee for official action. It was moved
by Buck, seconded by Wright that said bids be approved and
authorization be given to rebid protective clothing. Motion
carried.
The bid of Iowa Prison Industries in the amount of $1, 258 . 80
was reviewed for the Scotchlite Reflective Striping and
Numbering of six police vehicles. It was moved by Buck,
seconded by Wright that authorization be given to proceed as
proposed. Motion carried.
The following bids were reviewed for office furniture in
conjunction with Phase V of the City Hall Renovation Project
for the Police Department:

Matt Parrott & Sons Co. $35,724. 58

Office Concepts, Ltd. $36,788. 96
The Chief stated that the bid of Matt Parrott & Sons in the
amount of $35,724. 58, Office Concepts, Ltd. in the amount of
$36,788. 96 and Lincoln Office Supply in the amount of
$38 , 089. 53 were not compliant with the specifications. The
bid of Matt Parrott in the amount of $39,171. 94 is compliant
and was recommended for approval. Funds for said purchase
in the amount of $35,000 will be obtained from Phase V of
the City Hall Renovation Project with the balance from the
Police Department general fund. It was moved by Wright,
seconded by Angel that said recommendation be approved.
Ayes : Angel, Wright. Abstain: Buck. Motion carried.
Chief Koehrsen reported that the first quarter of the budget
year finds the Police Department with expenditures at 25. 28%
of the total year' s budget expenditures and revenues 17%
greater than anticipated.
Bids were reviewed for the purchase of video and
photographic equipment submitted by Lippert Camera in the
amount of $9546. 40 and Walden Photo in the amount of $9948
for use by the Police Department. It was the recommendation
