Members present: Chairperson Angel and Buck.
Members absent: Wright.
It was moved by Buck, seconded by Angel that the Agenda, as
amended to include Item No. 3 , entitled "Authorization to
seek bids for lateral file cabinet--Police Chief" , and Item
No. 4 entitled, "Authorization to purchase holsters for
Bicycle Patrol Officers--Police Chief" under New Business be
approved. Motion carried.
The request of the Police Chief for authorization to
purchase ten Safariland Model 295, lined, black, plain
holsters for ten officers assigned to the bicycle patrol,
at a cost of $57 . 20 each, for a total cost of $572 was
reviewed. The purchase would be made from Bob Denny
Shooters Supply of Cedar Falls. Funds are available for
this expenditure through the Governor ' s Alliance on
Substance Abuse. It was moved by Buck, seconded by Angel
that authorization be given as requested. Motion carried.
The request of the Fire Department for authorization to
purchase a lap top computer and software for use at the Fire
Rescue Regional Training Center was reviewed. The following
informal bids were reviewed:
Blackhawk Computer:
Halikan Chaplet System 3865X20 Lap Top $3 , 150
Computerland:
Tashiba T3200SZ Lap Top $3 , 623
It was the recommendation of the Fire Chief that the low bid
of Blackhawk Computer Consultants be approved. It was moved
by Buck, seconded by Angel that said recommendation be
approved. Motion carried.
Chief Koehrsen explained that with the remodeling of the
Police Department and the consolidation of the Professional
Standards Division from two offices into one office, a need
has arisen to economize and accommodate file space in the
area with an oversized closet/storage area. This unit would
replace four existing standard file cabinets . Chief
Koehrsen reported that funds are available within the Police
Department budget under-expended line items . It was moved by
Buck, seconded by Angel that authorization be given to
purchase said item. Motion carried.
The following bids were reviewed for holsters and magazine
holders for the Tactical Unit for the Police Department:
Chuck Clewell Sales $34 . 80
Fesler ' s Inc. 40 . 73
Sioux Sales 43 . 49
Denny' s Shooters Supply No response
It was the recommendation of the Police Chief that the low
bid of Chuck Clewell Sales be approved. Funds are available
for this purchase through donations by the Waterloo
Jaycees . It was moved by Buck, seconded by Angel that said
purchase be approved. Motion carried.
