It was moved by Wright, seconded by Angel that the Agenda, as amended to include Item No. 7 entitled "Authorization to replace air conditioning compressor at Fire Rescue Headquarters, 425 East Third Street--Fire Chief" be approved. Motion carried. The request of Chief Koehrsen for authorization to purchase two Glock semi-automatic pistols and leather gear in the amount of $873 . 74 for two new officers that will be hired in August, 1991 , was reviewed. In addition, the Chief ' s request for authorization to purchase seven Glock semi-automatic pistols and accessories for police reserve officers was reviewed. The reserve officers pay the City via a personal check for their equipment which is deposited in the Law Enforcement Trust Fund. These items will then be paid from this fund, resulting in no cost to the City. It was moved by Wright, seconded by Angel that the above two requests be approved. Motion carried. The request of the Waterloo Recreation and Arts Center for authorization to lease purchase a truck chassis and utility pickup was reviewed. These items will be paid for through the City's recently approved lease purchase plan. It was moved by Wright, seconded by Angel that authorization be given to proceed to seek bids for said items. Motion carried. The Police Department, acting through the Tri County Drug Task Force, requested authorization to enter into a rental agreement with a metropolitan auto dealership. This agreement will be funded through the Governors Alliance on Substance Abuse and matched with local monies . It was moved by Wright, seconded by Angel that authorization be given to enter into said agreement. Motion carried. It was moved by Wright, seconded by Angel that the garbage refund in the amount of $94 . 80 for 1314 Logan Avenue be approved. Motion carried. Bruce Meisinger, Budget Analyst, presented a year-end analysis for the City' s budget performance for the year ending June 30 , 1991 . The analysis compares the adopted budget with actual performance for both the general fund and the total budget including all funds for the past fiscal year. Actual revenues and actual expenditures by program were also delineated. In conclusion, reductions in budget expenditures and improvement in revenue receipts resulted in the improved level of ending fund balance in the general fund. A copy of the financial statement is available in the Clerk/Auditor ' s Office for public review. No official action was taken on this item.
