It was the recommendation of the Superintendent of Water
Pollution Control that the low bid of Dalton Plumbing
Heating & Cooling, Inc. of Cedar Falls, Iowa, for a 115,000
BTU Amana 80% efficiency furnace and a 5-ton Carrier
Central Air Conditioner System at a cost of $5, 518 be
approved. It was moved by Buck, seconded by Wright that
said recommendation be approved. Motion carried.
The request of the Police Department for authorization to
purchase DARE supplies at an approximate cost of $878, plus
shipping was reviewed. Expenditure for these items will be
from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund budget. It was moved by
Wright, seconded by Buck that authorization to purchase said
supplies be approved. Motion carried.
Proposed renovation costs for the Old East Side Library
prepared by Don Gardner Construction Co. was reviewed. An
informal bid was solicited from said company at a total bid
price of $24 ,000 . This first stage of the project will
allow the transfer of the Human Rights Commission and
Community Development offices on the second floor of City
Hall to the facility. Larry P. Burger, Clerk/Auditor,
requested authorization to proceed with the project with a
form of contract to be presented to the City Council on
Monday, May 6 , 1991. It was moved by Buck, seconded by
Wright that authorization to proceed with said informal
contract be approved. Motion carried.
It was moved by Angel, seconded by Wright that the bills
payment be approved as contained in Schedule A918, pp. 1-68,
in the amount of $1, 459,234 . 83 dated April 22, 1991. Motion
carried.
With no further business before the Committee, the meeting
was adjourned at 6 : 47 p.m.
