Members present: Chairperson Angel, Wright and Buck.
It was moved by Wright, seconded by Angel that the Agenda,
as proposed, be approved. Motion carried.
Discussion was heard on the recommendation on bids received
for work uniform for the Public Works Division -- Public
Works Director.
John Meyer reported that he has received three bids for the
Public Works uniforms as specified in his correspondence.
The three bids were from Palace Clothiers , J.C. Penney and
Wearguard Corp. of Norwell, Massachusetts . The apparent low
bid is from Palace Clothiers in the amount of $14 , 962 . 65 .
Mr. Meyer reported that this does beat the estimate of
$17 , 000 that had been placed on the bids. The other two
bids were from J.C. Penney bidding $17, 940 . 20 and Wearguard
Corp. bidding $19 , 597. 50. Mr. Meyer continued that he would
recommend that the Finance Committee authorize the purchase
of Public Works uniforms from Palace Clothiers of Waterloo
in the amount of $14, 962. 65 .
It was moved by Buck, seconded by Wright that the low bid be
awarded to Palace Clothiers for Public Works uniforms in the
amount of $14,962. 65 . Motion carried.
It was moved by Angel, seconded by Wright that the bills
payment be approved as contained in Schedule A918 , pp. 1-53 ,
in the amount of $623 , 498 . 50 dated October 1, 1990. Motion
carried.
With no other business before the Committee the meeting was
adjourned at 6: 41 p.m.
