It was moved by Wright, seconded by Angel that the Agenda, as amended to add Item No. 3 under New Business entitled "Garbage Refund for 522 Denver Street in the amount of $122 . 40--Clerk/Auditor" be approved. Motion carried. The following bids were reviewed for Federal Aero Dynamic Emergency Light Bars for the Police Department: ' Sioux Sales Company, Sioux City, Iowa - $657 . 00 Streicher' s, Minneapolis, Minnesota - $678. 00 Law Enforcement Equipment Co. , Kansas City, Missouri - $736 . 32 Ray O'Herron Co. , Inc. , Danville, Illinois - -$775 . 00 It was the recommendation of the Police Chief that the bid be awarded to the low compliant bidder, Sioux Sales Company. It was moved by Angel, seconded by Wright that said recommendation be approved. Motion carried. The request of the City Hall Building Maintenance Supervisor for authorization to purchase a snow thrower was reviewed. Bids were received from three local vendors as follows: Snapper 20" 3HP Sled Shed $432. 15 Toro 20" 3HP Platt' s $489. 00 John Deere 21" 4HP Platt' s $455 . 00 Larry P. Burger, Clerk/Auditor, reported that the Park Department removes snow from City Hall sidewalks but that this snow thrower would allow our maintenance person to clear pathways for City employees and citizens prior to the time the Park Department cleans the sidewalks. It was the recommendation of the Building Maintenance Supervisor that the John Deere unit from Platt' s in the amount of $455. 00 be purchased. It was moved by Wright, seconded by Angel that said recommendation be approved. Motion carried. The 1991 Calendar Year Garbage Exemptions schedule for low income persons and persons contracting with a private licensed hauler was reviewed. Larry P. Burger, Clerk/Auditor, reported that this is the same exemption schedule that was used for a portion of the current calendar year. The proposed schedule for exemptions is as follows: Less that $7 , 000 or contract with licensed private hauler = No charge for garbage services $7, 001 to $8, 500 = Pay 1/2 of the yearly fee (currently $7 . 90 per month or $47 . 40 yearly) $8, 501 to $10, 000 = Pay 3/4 of the yearly fee (currently $7 . 90 per month or $71 . 10 yearly) Th was moved by Wright, seconded by Angel that the above described garbage exemption schedule be approved.
