The following bids were reviewed for the F.Y. 1991 Virden Creek Dam Drainageway Grading and Cleanout Project: BIDDER BID AMOUNT Peterson Contractors, Inc. $16, 178. 40 It was the recommendation of the City Engineer that said bid be approved. It was moved by Buck, seconded by Wright that said recommendation be approved. Motion carried. The following bids were reviewed for an ACFC Recovery/ Recycling System (reuse of air-conditioning fluid) : Dorfmans Bid 1 $3 , 686. 93 Bid 2 $2, 936. 24 Bid 3 $3,019. 46 Delivery 1-7 days G & G Auto Parts $2,825 . 00 Delivery 1 day I .W.I . Motor Parts $2,400. 00 Delivery JimCin Inc. Bid 1 $2,796 . 50 Bid 2 (Demo) $2, 495. 00 Delivery 24 hrs. Standard Battery & Electric Co. $2, 564 .77 Delivery 7-10 days All systems meet specifications. It was the recommendation of the Superintendent of the Central Garage that the bid of Standard Battery & Electric Co. in the amount of $2, 564.77 be approved. The low bid of I .W.I . cannot be delivered during the current air- conditioning season. The second low bid of JimCin Inc. in the amount of $2, 495. 00 is a demonstration model and is not in the best interests of the City. It was moved by Wright, seconded by Buck that the recommendation of the Central Garage Superintendent to accept the bid of Standard Battery be approved. Motion carried. The request of the Fire Chief for authorization to take bids for the annual health screening/assessment for fire fighters was reviewed. It was moved by Buck, seconded by Wright that authorization to take bids as requested be approved. Motion carried. The request of the Fire Chief for authorization to purchase a vehicle to replace the Fire Chief' s car was discussed. His current vehicle, which responds to all fires and incurs heavy usage, will be passed down through the Department. The possibility of bidding this item with the recent bids authorized by the Police Department was reviewed.
