Members present: Chairperson Angel, Wright and Buck.
The Agenda, as amended, was approved. The amendment is to
remove the first item on parking notices.
Recommendation of bids received for equipment for the Park
Department - Rick Tagtow, Director of Parks and Forestry,
stated that he had a rather confusing issue on all of the
equipment bids for the various park programs. He stated
that his attached letter specified and summarized the items
that were going to be purchased. He stated that thetfirst
three items on his letter is the 6 string trimmers,
push mowers, and the 2 tandem trailers, from

Doug Slater of Case Power and Equipment Co. , Cedar Rapids,
Iowa, stated that he is a resident of the City of Waterloo
and also the repair man for the Case Power and Equipment Co.
is a resident of Waterloo. Mr. Slater stated that the
tractors will stand on their own as far as service is
concerned and is of high quality. Mr. Slater stated that
the Council should support the low bid in good faith to make
any bidders aware that local preference is stated in the bid
document and not at the time the bids are opened.
A representative of Waterloo Implement Co. stated that all
the tractors were bid on a package bid and that if any were
removed then that would affect the prices of the remaining
tractors that were accepted.
Rick Tagtow stated that since Waterloo Implement

package deal he would now recommend the apparent
Case Power and Equipment Co. It was moved by Buck, seconded
by Angel that the awarding of the various pieces of
equipment from the Waterloo Parks Commission be as follows:

Ic was moved by Angel, seconded by Wright that the bills
payment be approved as contained in Schedule A918, pp. 1-69,
in the amount of $1,056,187 .04, and Schedule W900, pp. 1-4,
in the amount of $1,481.08, dated May 21, 1990 . Motion
carried.

Members present: Wright and Buck.
Members absent: Chairperson Angel.
It was moved by Buck, seconded by Wright that the agenda, as
proposed, be approved. Motion carried.
The request of the Chief of Police for authorization to seek
bids for the purchase of ammunition, laboratory supplies,
uniforms and radio equipment maintenance was reviewed.
Funds are available in the F.Y. 1991 budget for said
expenditures. It was moved by Buck, seconded by Wright
that authorization be given to proceed accordingly. Motion
carried.
It was moved by Buck, seconded by Wright that garbage refunds
in the $6. 80 for 2007, 2009, 2023 and 2025 Burton Avenue be
approved. Motion carried.
It was moved by Buck, seconded by Wright that the bills
payment be approved as contained in Schedule A918, pp. 1-43,
in the amount of $1,057,275. 11, and Schedule W900, pp. 1-5,
in the amount of $10,816. 95, dated May 14, 1990. Motion
carried.
With no further business before the Committee, the meeting
was adjourned.
