Members present: Chairperson Brown, Fox and Buck.
Moved by Brown, seconded by Buck that the Agenda, as proposed, be
approved. Motion carried.
Discussion was heard on the proposed sewer rate increase. Bruce
Bottorff, Superintendent of Water Pollution Control Plant,
presented scenarios for the next four years as it relates to
bonding needs and sources of funding for payment of said bonds.
Yearly increases in the minimum charge were reviewed at 70 cents
for Fiscal Year 1989 and $1 . 00 for said increase in Fiscal Year
1990 and 1991. These revenues, together with charges from the
Tannery and IBP, were reviewed.
Several members of the general public were in attendance. Their
discussion involved how the minimum charge would be applied to
apartment units. Mr. Bottorff explained that each unit within an
apartment complex would be charged the minimum fee as established
by the City Council. These public members expressed displeasure
with this method of charges.
No action was taken by the Public Works Committee. A future
meeting will be scheduled.
With no further business before the Committee, the meeting was
adjourned.
