Members present: Chairperson Rose Angel, Buck
Members absent: Wright
It was moved by Buck, seconded by Angel that the Agenda, as
proposed, be approved. Motion carried.
The following bids were reviewed for a Camcorder and accessories
for the Police Department:
Bidder Total Bid
Garrison Appliance $1 , 821. 60
General Electronics $1, 943 . 75
It was the recommendation of the Police Department to accept the
low bid of Garrison Appliance. Funds are available in the Police
Department budget from the Law Enforcement Trust Funds line item.
It was moved by Buck, seconded by Angel that said recommendation
be approved. Motion carried.
The request of the Superintendent of the Central Garage for
permission to purchase a used, compact pick-up truck for use by
the Water Pollution Control Plant was reviewed. Purchase price
of this Datsun is $1,365. It was moved by Buck, seconded by
Angel that authorization be given to purchase said truck. Motion
carried.
The request of Les Schmidt, 1263 Sheffield Avenue, for a garbage
exemption for his residence was reviewed. Mr. Schmidt explained
that he is a single family household and does not generate
garbage. After discussion, it was moved by Buck, seconded by
Angel that said request be denied. Motion carried. Chairperson
Angel explained that the Committee was recommending denial since
his request did not meet the policy guidelines established by the
Council that allows garbage exemptions to be granted for one of
the following two purposes:
1. If the income for the household is less than $7,000 for
Calendar Year 1987, and
2 . If the resident contracts with a private hauler to
dispose of his garbage.
It was moved by Buck, seconded by Angel that the request of
Electrical Controls and Instrumentation, 2524 Wagner Road, for a
garbage refund in the amount of $34. 80 be approved. Motion
carried.
Bill Payments were forwarded to the City Council for approval.
It was moved by Buck, seconded by Angel that the meeting be
adjourned. Motion carried.
