HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/07/1981 FINANCE COMMITTEE December 7, 1981 City Hall Waterloo, Iowa The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo, Iowa met in the Mayor's Conference Room in City Hall at 6:30 P.M. on December 7, 1981. Council Member Dowie presiding officer. On Roll Call : Dowie, Wilharm, Bowers, Roehr Don Thorson, Superintendent of Streets, asked authorization to purchase a dump truck and snow plow to replace equipment that has broken through the year. Bids have been solicited form GMC Trucks of Iowa and International . The low bid of International did not meet specifications; therefore, it was moved by Wilharm, seconded by Bowers to approve purchase of the truck and snow plow from-414e in the1� amount of $24,340.00. The ,rr— motion carried. Qf16•I'I )-Esr-rU (LSt 3 The request of the Police Department to purchase one (1) electronic typewriter and two (2) standard electric typewriters was reviewed. The machines that will be replaced will be handed down to other department members. It was moved by Bowers, seconded by Wilharm to authorize solicitation of bids for the above items. The motion carried. It was moved by Wilharm, seconded by Roehr to approve payment of the following bills: DEPT. P.O. VENDOR AMT. Tom Campbell , Finance Director/Treasurer asked whether advertisement from a local bank on IRA plans could be given to City employees with their payroll checks. After discussion, it was the concensus of the committee to give the printed information to the union president for distribution. The meeting was adjourned at 6:45 P.M. Larry P. Burger City Clerk
