HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/12/1981 FINANCE COMMITTEE October 12, 1981 West High School Waterloo, Iowa The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo, Iowa met at West High School at 6:30 P.M. on October 12, 1981. Council Member Dowie presiding officer. On Roll Call : Dowie, Wilharm, Bowers, Roehr The following bid was opened for the removal of the boiler at the Police Pistol Range on Elk Run Road: BIDDER AMOUNT 1) Vose Moving Co. $580.00 It was moved by Roehr, seconded by Bowers to approve the above bid. The motion carried. Police Chief Junior Grimm asked that the bids received on October 5, 1981 for body armor be delayed for one (1) week. It was moved by Bowers, seconded by Roehr to authorize the Police Department to take bids on flash units for camera equipment and related accessories. The motion carried. It was moved by Bowers, seconded by Roehr to authorize the Garage Superintendent to take bids for a sewer cleaner and truck. The motion carried. The Mayor asked that the specifications include conformance to the Noise Ordinance. Michael Freland, an agent of Great American Life Insurance Company, reviewed his company's proposal for deferred compensation. His company is not currently eligible to sign City employees under his plan and is now soliciting the City for occupancy on one of the City's computer keys. He has signed forty-five (45) potential City employees into his program. It was moved by Bowers, seconded by Wilharm to refer this matter to the full City Council on October 19, 1981 for consideration with Roger Mogle, Personnel Director to prepare a report on this matter. The motion carried. It was moved by Roehr, seconded by Wilharm to approve payment of the following bills: DEPT. P.O. VENDOR AMT. Water Pollution Control 7170 Crisp Service Roofing $6,790.00 7294 Verbraken & Sons 5,875.00 7352 Overton Chemical 2,500.00 " 7353 Crane Packing 340.19 Street 7350 C & J Contractor Sply 457.20 The motion carried.
