HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/10/1981 FINANCE COMMITTEE August 10, 1981 City Hall Waterloo, Iowa The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo, Iowa met in the Mayor's Conference Room in City Hall at 6:30 P.M. on August 10, 1981. Council Member Wilharm presiding officer. On Roll Call : Wilharm, Bowers, Roehr Absent: Dowie The following bids were received for twelve (12) police car safety shields and shotgun racks: BIDDER AMT. OF BID Constable Equipment Co., Inc. $3,610.08 Law Enforcement Equipment Co. 4,311.00 It was moved by Bowers, seconded by Roehr to refer the above bids to the Police Departmet for review and recommendation. The motion carried. Larry P. Burger, City Clerk, reported a garbage refund due to Verna Kindschi , 253 Boston, for garbage payments she had paid for the above address. She has been paying double garbage rates; the Water Water Works has verified that an amount of $36.00 is due to her (July 23, 1981 - May 1, 1981). It was moved by Roehr, seconded by Bowers to approve a refund in the amount of $36.00 to Verna Kindschi , 253 Boston. The motion carried. It was moved by Bowers, seconded by Roehr to approve payment of the following bills: DEPT. P.O. VENDOR AMT. Finance/Treas. N.E. Ia. Custom Mach. 600.00 The motion carried. Under discussion items, Mayor Rooff reported that he had received a bill for attorney fees from Larry Dolan, Harry Helgeson, Michael Beener, Robert Shafer, Randy Schoenfelder (members of the Waterloo Police Department) for expenses incurred in a lawsuit challenging the promotions of five (5) other officers in the force. The Mayor recommended that the fees not be paid because they could have utilized City legal staff, but had elected not to do so. It was moved by Bowers, seconded by Roehr to recommend to the City Council to deny this request for the reason given by the Mayor at their next regularly scheduled meeting of August 17 , 1981.
