The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo, Iowa met in the Mayor's Conference Room in
City Hall at 6:3..0 P.M. on July 20, 1981.
Council Member Roehr presiding officer.
On Roll Call : Wilharm, Bowers, Roehr
Absent: Dowie
The following bids were received for rock salt for the Street Department:
BIDDER DUMP DELIVERY
Diamond Crystal $26.46
Domtar Industries 26.78
International Salt 28.28
It was moved by Bowers, seconded by Wilharm to refer the above bids to the Street
Department for review and recommendation. The motion carried.
The following bids were received for a sound meter for the Police Department:
BIDDER AMOUNT
1) GenRad, Inc. (2 units) $6,307.50
2) Bruel & Kjaer Instruments (1 unit) 2,693.00
It was moved by Bowers, seconded by Wilharm to refer the above bids to the Police
Department for review and recommendation. The motion carried.
Larry Cunningham, Garage Superintendent, recommended that the low bid of Hanawalt Ford in
the amount of $8,396.15 be approved for the animal Control Van (See minutes of 7/13/81).
It was moved by Roehr, seconded by Wilharm to approve this recommendation. The motion
carried.
Del Bowers, Chairman of the Building Committee recommended that the bid of Esser Glass &
Paint in the amount of $1,103.16 for aluminum interior doors for City Hall be
approved. (See minutes of 7/13/81). It was moved by Wilharm, seconded by Bowers to
approve this recommendation. The motion carried.
Don Thorson, Street Superintendent, reported the need for repair to the roof of the
Street Department Garage. It was moved by Bowers, seconded by Wilharm to authorize
repairs to be made. The motion carried.
It was moved by Bowers, seconded by Wilharm to approve payment of the following bills:

Central Garage 6516 Ben & Dick 's $ 348.51
Street 6350 Rohlin Construction 969.00
Police 93941 Palace Clothiers 4,677.10
The motion carried.
