The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo, Iowa met in the Mayor' s
Conference Room in City Hall at 6 : 30 P.M. on May 4, 1981.
Council Member Roehr Presiding Officer.
On Roll Call : Wilharm, Bowers , Roehr
Absent : Dowie
Larry P. Burger, City Clerk, presented information he had received from
Pitney Bowes for an electronic mailing scale . He stated that the savings
the City would realize from an electronic scale could be substantial ;
but that no money is currently available in his budget for its purchase.
It was moved by Bowers , seconded by Roehr to authorize the City Clerk
to investigate other machines for the City' s use . The motion carried.
It was moved by Bowers , seconded by Roehr to approve payment of the
following bills :

BLDG INSP 5315 Rochester $337 . 65 received
Germicide
Finance Met Transfer $2039 . 58 transfer
The motion carried.
Chief Grimm recommended that the bid of Dictaphone Corporation be ac-
cepted for the audio logging recorder equipment . It was moved by Bowers ,
seconded by Roehr to accept this recommendation. The motion carried.
Moved by Bowers , seconded by Roehr to adjourn.
Under the advise of City Attorney Hultman, it was recommended that the
Council meet in Executive Session to discuss a matter now in litigation.
It was moved by Penaluna, seconded by Bowers that the Council meet in
Executive Session. Ayes 6, Absent Dowie. The motion carried.
THE COUNCIL NOW MEETS IN EXECUTIVE SESSION.
It was moved by Getty, seconded by Burton to adjourn the Executive
session. The motion carried.
