The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo , Iowa met in the Mayor ' s
Conference Room in City Hall at 6 : 30 P.M. on April 13 , 1981 .
Council Member Dowie presiding.
On Roll Call : Bowers , Roehr, Wilharm, Dowie
The Building Committee and Chief Olson recommended that the bid of Crisp
Service Roofing Company in the amount of $6 , 883 . 00 be accepted for repair
to the roof for Fire Station #2 . This was the low bid received on April
6, 1981 . It was moved by Wilharm, seconded by Roehr to accept this
recommendation. The motion carried.
Curt Parsons , Building Official , recommended that the low bid of Young
Plumbing & Heating in the amount of $2 , 813 . 00 be accepted for mechanical work
for the Police Radio Communication Center. It was moved by Roehr , seconded
by Wilharm to approve this recommendation. The motion carried.
Don Temeyer, Plan and Program Director, reported that word from the Iowa
Department of Transportation had been received allowing the City to begin
the appraisal process on properties for advanced acquisition for Hackett
Road By-Pass . Appraisals will be ordered and negotiations commenced ,
Police Chief Grimm shared a letter from Mrs . Robert Kane , 718 Jane Street ,
who praised the Neighborhood Watch Program now being conducted by the
Waterloo Police Department . Chief Grimm also expressed his appreciation to
the Committee for their assistance.
It was moved by Roehr, seconded by Bowers to approve the following bills ;
