Council Member Dowie presiding. On Roll Call : Bowers , Roehr, Wilharm, Dowie The following bids were opened for roof repair for the #2 Fire Station: BIDDER AMOUNT Fuller Roofs , Inc . $7 , 250 . 00 Crisp Service Roofing Co . 6 , 883 . 00 It was moved by Bowers , seconded by Wilharm to refer the above bids to the Building Committee and Fire Chief for review and recommendation. The motion carried. The following bid was received for electrical work in the Police Radio Communication Center : BIDDER AMOUNT Black Hawk Electrical Co. $2, 938 . 00 It was moved by Roehr, seconded by Bowers to approve the above bid . The motion carried. The following bids were received for mechanical work in the Police Radio Communication Center : BIDDER AMOUNT Young Plumbing and Heating Co. $2 ,813 . 00 Meyers Sheet Metal Works 2 , 949 . 00 It was moved by Roehr, seconded by Bowers to refer the above bids to Curt Parsons for review and recommendation. The motion carried. The following bid was received for general contracting work in the Police Radio Communication Center: BIDDER AMOUNT Chas . Mauser & Sons , Inc . $4 , 355 . 00 It was moved 1y Wilharm, seconded by Bowers to approve the above bid. The motion carrie II . The Police cart bids received at the previous Finance Committee were discussed. The Chief reported that the Jim Holdiman bid did not meet the specifica- tions . The fallowing bid prices were reviewed: Hanawalt Ford $ 93 , 163 . 96 George Morris Chevrolet 98 , 846 .40 Dick Witham Chevrolet 99 , 226 . 80 Mark Gill Buick 101 , 952 . 00 Friedley Lincoln-Mercury 104, 249 . 40 Discussion involved whether the low bid should be accepted and whether the Ford or Chevrolet bid should be accepted due to interchangeability of parts with current Police cars . It was moved by Roehr , seconded by Wilharm to approve the low bid of Hanawalt Ford. Ayes : Wilharm, Roehr . Nays : Bowers , Dowie. Motion NOT carried. Therefore, it was moved by Roehr , seconded by Bowers to refer the matter to the full Council for their recommendation. The motion carried. Don Thorson, Street Superintendent , asked for authorization to take bids on a motor grader on a lease/purchase basis . The current contract on the machine has expired. It was moved by Bowers , seconded by Wilharm to authorize bid taking. The motion carried. Finance Committee -2- April 6 , 1981 Discussion on the purchase of a posting machine was delayed.
