City Hall , Waterloo, Iowa
The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo , Iowa met in the Mayor ' s
Conference Room in City Hall at 6 : 30 P .M. on October 27 , 1980 .
Council Member Dowie , presiding.
On Roll Call : Dowie, Roehr, Wilharm, and Bowers .
The first order of business was the opening of bids for plumbing repairs
to the City Jail . Bids were received from the following companies :

1) Steven Nelson Plumbing & Heating Low $1 ,800 . 00
High $2 , 300 . 00
2) Carpenter ' s Plumbing
Low $538 . 00
High $723 . 00
3) Black Hawk Plumbing Total bid
- $1 , 325 . 00
After discussion, it was moved by Roehr, seconded by Bowers to approve
the above low bid of Carpenter ' s Plumbing, $723. 00 . The motion carried.
Bids were then opened for replacement of eight glass windows in City
Hall . Bids were received from the following companies :

1) Standard Glass Co.
$1 , 100 . 00
2) Lindgren Glass Products
$1 , 200. 00
After discussion, it was moved by Bowers , seconded by Roehr to approve
the above low bid of Standard Glass Co . , $1 , 100 . 00, The motion carried .
Bids were then opened for replacement of aluminum doors at the back
entrance of City Hall . Bids were received from the following companies :

AMT. OF BID
1) Standard Glass Co.
$820 . 00
2) Lindgren Glass Products
$1 , 300 . 00
It was moved by Roehr, seconded by Bowers that the above bids be
referred to C. W. Parsons for review for conformance to specifications .
The motion carried.
Bids were then opened for a salt spreader for the Street Department .
Bids were received from the following companies :

1) George Morris Chevrolet
$6 , 371 . 60 (trade difference)
2) Hanawalt Ford
$6 ,588 . 30 (Trade difference)
3) Trucks of Iowa
$6 , 369 . 00 (Trade difference)
It was moved by Roehr, seconded by Bowers to refer the above bids to the
Fire Department for review. The motion carried .
Larry Cunningham explained that gas pump tickets were needed for the
City' s garage . It was moved by Roehr, seconded by Wilharm to allow an
expenditure of $300. 00 to purchase gas pump tickets . The motion carried.

Action on the out-of-town watts line was deferred until November 3 ,
1980. Additional information will be collected.
With no further business before the committee the meeting was adjourned
until after the Council Meeting.
Chairman Dowie then reopened the meeting. It was moved by Wilharm,
seconded by Bowers to accept the bid of George Morris Chevrolet in
the amount of $6, 371 . 60 as it met the specifications . The motion
carried.
After discussion, it was moved by Bowers , seconded by Roehr to accept
the bid of Trans-Iowa in the amount of $4, 135 . 00 as it met specifications .
The motion carried.
With no further discussion before the Committee , the meeting was
adjourned at 8 : 10 P.M.
