The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo, Iowa met in the Mayor's Conference
Room in City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on October 20, 1980.
Council Member Dowie, presiding.
On Roll Call : Dowie, Roehr, Wilharm, and Bowers.
Councilman Bowers stated that the Building Committee was investigating repairs
to the jail and would be bringing bids for repairs to the Committee in the
near future.
Mike Smith, National Travelers Service, Inc. , presented a written proposal to
the Committee on long distance telephone service to the City. The system includes
both an inbound and an outbound WATS line. No 'additional installation is required--
it is a service orinted system. Two costs are involved: 1 ) one time subscription
fee of $100.00 per 6 hour unit of telephone time, and 2) $100.00 per 6 hour
unit of telephone useage. Larry Burger, City Clerk, will be investigating the
City's current costs and hours of useage. This matter will be discussed at a
later meeting.
Chairman Dowie called for additional business, there was none, and it
was moved to close the meeting at 6:50 p.m. /, ,—
