The contract covers a one year period. Bruce Bottorff, Director of Waterloo Pollution Control , asked the Committee to consider three alternatives to the repair of their primary pumping facility. The repairs are a result of being flooded with raw sewage in January, 1980. The engine is fifteen years old and in addition, is needing routine repairs. The engine results in a large savings in electrical power costs. Replacement cost of the machine is approximately $85,000.00. After discussion, it was moved by Bowers, seconded by Wilharm to authorize repair of the engine at an estimated cost of $40,000.00. The motion carried.
