The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo, Iowa met in the Mayor Conference
Room in City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on July 7, 1980.
Council Member Dowie, Chairman presiding.
On Roll Call : Dowie, Wilharm, Roehr, Bowers
The first item brought before the Committee was the bids received by the City Clerk's
office for a new copier machine. Mr. Burger, City Clerk, explained that the lease on
the current machine is expiring. Bids were received from 3m Toshiba 728 in the
amount of $320.61 per month, Xerox 3100-LDC in the amount of $236.80 per month,
AB Dick 990 in the amount of $354.20 per month, and the Royfax 115 in the amount of
$152.87 per month. Maintenance agreements are included in the rent or lease of
each machine. The Royfax bid was received only today and upon the recommendation
of Chairman Dowie, it was suggested that this bid be reviewed with a recommendation
to be presented by the City Clerk at the next meeting.
City Clerk, Larry Burger, also explained that Nancy Shriver, 2201 Falls Avenue, has
asked that her garbage expense for the period of February 27, 1980 through March 26,
1980 be canceled. She has also shown proof that she did employ a private hauler
during the same period of time. It was mop" d by Roehr, seconded be Bowers, to author-
ize a garbage refund of $46.00 to Nancy Shriver. The motion carried.
Mayor Rooff reported that he authorized Curt Parsons, Building Superintendent, to
install a water heater in City Hall at a cost of $800.00. Mayor Rooff also explained
that since the sudden hospitalization of Larry Cunningham, Garage Superintendent,
Dennis Bell has been carrying on the duties of the department. The Mayor has
recommended that Mr. Bell purchase 100 grader blades for the Garage for the upcoming
months.
Chairman Dowie called for additional business, there was none, an it wafsoved
to close the meeting at 6:45.
