The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo, Iowa met in the Mayor's
Conference Room in City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on June 9, 1980.
Council Member Dowie, Chairman presiding.
On Roll Call : Dowie, Wilharm, Roehr, Bowers
Building Committee Chairperson Del Bowers reported on the situation that currently
exists with Ray White, City Hall Building Superintendent, and the tools which
he uses for day-to-day maintenance of the building. He personally has purchased
tools in the amount of $153.09 which includes equipment and tools beyond those
most often associated with this job. This amount represents those personal
tools that have been broken and need replacement. Hand tools were thought to
be the responsibility of the employee. It was moved by Wilharm, seconded by
Roehr to approve purchasing these tools in the amount of $153.09. The motion
carried. Councilperson Getty also suggested that in the future consideration
be given to the City purchasing all tools, except hand tools, to avoid this
type of situation happening in the future.
Chairman Dowie called for additional business, there was none, and it was
moved to close the meeting at 6:45.
