The Finance Coinunittee of the City of Waterloo, Iowa met in the Mayor ' s
Conference Room in City Hall at 6 : 30 p .m. on June 2 , 1980 .
Council Member Dowie, Chairman presiding.
On Roll Call : Dowie , Wilharm, Roehr
Absent : Bowers
The first order of business was the receipts of three bids for two
1 Ton pickups for the Sewer Dept. The bids which were received were
lower than anticipated. The monies for the trucks are included in
the F.Y. 1981 Budget of the Sewer Dept . The recommendation of Larry
Cunningham, Garage Superintendent and Don Temeyer, Director of Plan
and Program Commission was to accept the low bid of Crossroads Ford
(these bids were for V-8 engines) . The bid price was for $17 , 395 . 00
for both. It was moved by Wilharm, seconded by Roehr to accept the
low bid of Crossroads Ford in the amount of $17 , 395 . 00 for the 2
pick-ups . The motion carried.
Two bids were also received for 2 pick-ups , one each for the
Sanitation and Street Departments . The two requests are in harmony
with the Vehicle Replacement Program. The written recommendation
of Larry Cunningham, Garage Sueprintendent and Don Temeyer, Director
of Plan and Program Commission was corrected to recommend the Trucks
of Iowa as the low bid. The low bid was in the amount of $10 ,965 . 00
(for both trucks) . It was moved by Wilharm, seconded by Roehr to
accept the bid of trucks of Iowa in the amount of $10 , 965 . 00 . The
motion carried.
Chairman Dowie called for additional business , there was none , and
it was moved by Roehr, seconded by Wilharm to close the meeting at
6 : 45 .
