Council Member Dowie, Chairman, presiding. On Roll Call: Bowers, Roehr, Wilharm and Dowie. Couzcilperson Dowie inquired as to whether there had been any responses to the radio contracts currently being distributed. Don Temeyer stated that a meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 30, 1980, with potential contractors. Ttao bills were presented for the City's share of the attorney's fee associated with arbitration for the Waterloo Fire Fighters Union. One bill was from Milo G. Flaten in the sum of $538. 30 and the other was for Rogers, Phillips, and Swanger in the sum of $1,005. 81. It was uoved by Wilharm, seconded by Bowers to pay the two bills mentioned above. The motion carried. Bruce Bottorf presented three (3) bids for a land spreader. The wide discrepany of bids ($105.000.00 vs. $12,188.00) was due to that the lower bid would allow the spreader to be mounted on our truck with the larger bid the price for a new vehicle. This is not a budgeted item in the Water Pollution Control Plant budget, however, it can be accorrodated by transferring funds from the Sewer Rental fund to Bruce's budget. In discussing this matter with Don Temeyer, the Water Pollution Control budget is not projected to be over-expended by year's end and that this transfer could be made. It was moved by Bowers, seconded by Roehr to allow an expenditure of $12,188. 88 for the spreader. The motion carried. The request of Richard Knief, a Waterloo policeman who was temporarily dismissed from the force, to pay legal fees incurred during hi' dismissal was discussed. The amount of the bill was $264.40. After discussion, it was moved by Wilharm, seconded by Roehr to reject the request. The motion carried. (hariman Dowie called for additional business, there was none, and it was moved to close the ueeting at 6:45p.m. Larry P. Burger, City Clerk
