The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, met in the Mayor' s Conference
Room in the City Hall at 6: 30 p.m. on April 7, 1980.
Council Member Roehr, presiding.
Walter Cochran, Conway-McElroy Board, presented a proposal to transfer $22,000.00
from the Conway, Fiscal Year 1980 Budget, to McElroy budget. Mr. Cochran stated
that a combination of $22,000.00 from Conway, $33,000.00 concession fund carryover,
$5,000.00 interest on concession money, $52,700.00 ice revenues , $15,000.00 re-
venues from April through June, $5,000.00 sale of advertising, would allow McElroy
Auditorium to stay in operation twelve (12) months of the year.
Mayor Rooff expressed concern that when the Conway Hotel takes over management
of Conway, that the City will have to compensate all the employees of Conway with
unused sick leave and vacation pay.
Roger Mogle, Personnel Director, stated that a rough estimate would be $20,000.00
to $25,000.00.
Council Member Burton requested that the Council be provided a list of rates charged
at McElroy.
Council Member Roehr presented a bid sheet,prepared by the Plan and Program Depart-
ment, for electronic and radio repair service. Roehr asked the Finance Committee
to study the form and approve it in one or two weeks .
Larry P. Burger, City Clerk, presented a listing by department, of the various
amounts budgeted, and expended for forms during the current year. Burger suggested
that if the City does not contract with a forms management service, that the Council
might look into the possibility of channeling all forms through the Print Shop
for approval to order. Passing all forms through the Print Shop would eliminate
any duplication of services the City Print Shop offers.
Moved by Wilharm, seconded by Bowers to investigate the channeling of all forms
through City Print Shop. Motion carried.
Larry P. Burger, City Clerk, presented a proposal and three bids for carpeting
for the City Clerk' s Office. Council Member Roehr recommended the Finance refer
this request to the Building Committee for a recommendation .
Council Member Roehr called for additional business; there was none.
Moved by Bowers, seconded by Wilharm to close Finance Committee Meeting at 6: 56 p.m.
