HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/03/1980 Finance Committee March 3 , 1980 Mayor ' s Conference Room City Hall, Waterloo, Iowa The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, met in the Mayor ' s Conference Room in the City Hall at 6 :30 P.M. on March 3 , 1980. Council Member Dowie , Chairman, presiding. On Roll Call : Present : Bowers , Dowie , Roehr, and Wilharm. Frank Dowie presented a letter of request from the Building Department asking for permission to purchase a Chevette from Schukei Chevrolet for $5 ,124. 00 which is $376.00 less that their budget request . Moved by Roehr, seconded by Bowers to approve the purchase of the car for the Building Department . Ayes : Seven. Motion carried. Roger Mogle of Personnel asked the Finance Committee to approve payment of one-half of the cost of the Fact Finders Report for the Fire Department. The Union also pays half of the costa Our half amounts to $540.00. Moved by Bowers , seconded by Roehr to approve payment of $540.00 for Fact Finders Report. Ayes : Seven. Motion carried. Dowie brought to the Finance Committee 's attention the cost of the Main- tenance Contract with Rosenkrans Electric for radio repairs for the city. Curt Parsons stated that the Building Department 's share of the cost of the contract is $1 ,000.00 and that they have not needed repairs to their radios . Discussion of not to continue the maintenance Contract was tabled for two weeks . Motion carried. Bowers presented a request from the Building Committee for the purchase of benches for the lobby at a cost of $1 ,800.00 to funded by block grant . Moved by Bowers , seconded by Wilharm to approve payment of $1 ,800.00 for benches for the City Hall lobby. Motion carried. Dowie asked the Finance Committee to approve payment of $967.17 to Metro Transit which is the City ' s share of the cost of the purchase of busses and Central Transit Station. Moved by Bowers , seconded by Roehr to approve payment of $967.17 for City ' s share to Metro Transit. Chairman Dowie called for additional business, there was none, and it was moved to close the meeting at 6 :52 P.M. Larry E. Burger City Clerk
