HomeMy WebLinkAbout02/11/1980 • a Finance Committee February 11, 1980 Mayor's Conference Room City Hall, Waterloo, Iowa The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, met in the Mayor's Conference Room in the City Hall at 6:30 P.M. on February 11, 1980. Council Member Wilharm presiding. On Roll Call: Present: Bowers and Wilharm. Absent: Dowie and Roehr. Council Member Wilharm called the meeting to order. It was moved by Bowers to pay for the traffic controllers at three (3) locations: (1) Falls Avenue and Ansborough (2) Franklin and Nevada (3) Franklin and Seventh Street from H. B. Allen, Inc. for traffic signalization from Fund 331. Seconded by Wilharm. Motion carried. Planning Department reported on a private piece of property located within the Ring Dike around the Water Pollution Control Plant that the Planning Department has been working on for three years and is owned by Jessie Harris. The Harrises have gotten a divorce and are now ready to sell the property to the City for $3,000.00. Bowers moved that the City should proceed with the negotiations through the City Attorney's Office on the purchase of this property for $3,000.00. Seconded by Wilharm. Motion carried. Council Member Getty presented two bids ($53.50 and $44.50) on a 5'x5' pull down type of projection screen to be used in the Council Chambers. This request was referred to the Planning Department for recommendation. Moved by Bowers, seconded by Dowie to accept the recommendation of the Assistant Attorney General and City Attorney Hultman to pay one-half of the Allen Hospital and Dr. Dale Phelps bills for treatment of Lee A. Smith, a prisoner in the care and custody of our police department. (The City share for Allen Hospital is $560.53 and for Dr. Phelps is $100.00.) Moved by Wilharm, seconded by Bowers to adjourn at 6:43 P.M. Motion carried. Tom Campbell, Acting City Clerk
