The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo , Iowa, met in the Mayor ' s
Conference Room in the City Hall at 6 : 35 P .M. on February 4, 1980 .
Council Member Dowie , Chairman, presiding .
On Roll Call : Present : Bowers , Dowie , Wilharm. Absent : Roehr.
Mayor Rooff brought to the attention of the committee the request of
former Police Chief, Robert L. Beener for payment of 22 weeks of additional
vacation pay which he feels he is entitled to and did not receive . In
June of 1978 he was paid for 5 weeks of vacation pay and in August of 1978
he was also paid for 22 weeks vacation pay, making a total of 7 weeks of
vacation pay received.
It was moved by Wilharm, seconded by Bowers to deny the request for additional
vacation pay to former Police Chief, Robert L. Beener. Motion carried.
The Finance Committee recommended that Roger Mogle , Personnel Director,
revise the schedule of payment of vacation pay for department heads , with
a report back to the committee. Motion carried.
Chairman Dowie called for additional business , there was none , and it was
moved to close the meeting at 6 : 43 P .M.
