HomeMy WebLinkAbout01/28/1980 Finre Committee JanL ry 28 , 1980 Mayor' s Conference Room City Hall , Waterloo , Iowa The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo , Iowa, met in the Mayor' s Con- ference Room in the City Hall at 6 : 34 P .M. on January 28 , 1980 . Council Member Dowie , Chairman, presiding. On Roll Call : Present : Bowers , Dowie , Wilharm. Absent : Roehr . Chairman Dowie called the meeting to order . Mayor Rooff brought up the request of the Police Department for eight additional patrol vehicles . The Police Department now has twenty-one vehicles . Discussion followed as to the funding of vehicles in this year' s budget . It was moved by Dowie , seconded by Wilharm to reject this purchase request until more information is received. It was brought up by the Finance Director the need to change the computer programming for the Employee ' s Deferred Compensation Plan. There are presently now six companies with employees enrolled. The original Plan approved by the Deferred Compensation Committee states that no contracts will be authorized unless a minimum of twenty participants are enrolled. Presently none of the companies have twenty employees . The computer as it is programmed now will not hold any more companies . There are now two new companies which have signed un employees . To re-program the computer to include these additional companies would cost approximately $1 , 200. Discussion followed. It was moved by Dowie, seconded by Bowers to have Roger Mogle , Personnel Director to contact the two additional Insurance Companies and employees involved that they cannot be accepted at this time, due to non-conformance with City Ordinance . Chairman Dowie called for additional business , there was none , and it was moved by Bowers to close the meeting at 7 : 04 P .M. Tom Campbell , Acting City Clerk
