The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, met in the Mayor ' s Con-
ference Room in City Hall at 6 : 30 P .M. on August 20, 1979 .
Council Member Getty, Chairman, presiding.
On roll call: Present: Dowie, Getty, Roehr, Wilharm.
Chairman Getty called the meeting to order .
Chairman Getty asked if anyone planned on attending the Conway-McElroy Board
Meeting at 4: 00 P .M. , Tuesday, August 21, 1979 ? Chairman Getty was infoLiued
they are talking about raising the rent on what the Waterloo School System
pays for McElroy Auditorium, which would effect the City ' s cost . Mayor Rooff
suggested the Committee sit with the Board and see what they charge now, and
what it will be raised to .
Police Chief Bemisdarfer submitted to Chairman Getty copies he requested of
the requisition form for 2 swivel chairs . Chairman Getty wanted to see when
these chairs were purchased, and why they are falling apart so soon. They
were purchased from Contol-O-Fax 6-6-78 for around $100 each, and they were
supposed to be heavy duty chairs and should last longer than one year . Chief
Bemisdarfer said they get rough treatment with 6 to 8 men sitting on them each
shift. Discussion followed. Chairman Getty said he would call Control-O-Fax
to see what could be done.
Chairman Getty called for additional business , there was none, and closed the
meeting at 6 : 41 P .M.
