HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/06/1979 Finance Committee August 6, 1979 Mayor ' s Conference Room City Hall, Waterloo , Iowa The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, met in the Mayor' s Con- ference Room in City Hall at 6 : 30 P .M. , on August 6 , 1979 . Council Member Getty, Chairman, presiding. On roll call : Present: Getty, Roehr . Absent: Dowie, Wilharm. Chairman Getty called the meeting to order . Discussed was industrial tractor requested by Parking Ramp Supt. Virgil Graybill, and it was decided to go with CASE , due to time factor and low bid. Moved by Roehr, seconded by Getty to order the CASE tractor . Motion carried. City Clerk Gibbs asked permission to purchase 100, 000 parking tickets and re- ported 3 bids , (1) Control-O-Fax - $4453. 13, (2) Lincoln' s - $3764. 70 and (3) Duncan' s , Elk Grove Village , Ill . - $4676 . 00 , It was moved by Roehr to defer action for one week so all involved may see samples , and do some checking. Motion carried. Mayor Rooff reported a mix-up in bids for the hydraulically operated excavator with CASE submitting two bids , and Engineer calling to confirm; but he rec- ommended going with the Bantam, being a heavy machine and will dig deeper . Chairman Getty and the Committee approved the Bantam, from Herman M. Brown Company, for $92, 000 . 00 . City Atty. Hultman requested subscribing to U. S . Law Week for $260 . 00 a year . He thought this would be very beneficial and highly recommended this for the City' s law library, with its information on municipal law and criminal law around the country. Moved by Roehr, seconded by Getty to approve this subscription . Motion carried. Chairman Getty called for additional business , there was none and closed the meeting at 6: 41 P .M.
