ROGER SHOOK
Police Department
City of Waterloo
715 Mulberry Street
Waterloo, Iowa 50704
Dear Lieutenant Shook:
I am writing in reference to the three (3) part-time School Crossing
Guard positions that are presently being funded under Title II-D of
CETA. These three (3) positions are presently being filled by Ms
Flaurette Beaver, Ms Darlius Clark, and Ms Mary Tyler.
Congress , in passing the new CETA legislation, has mandated that all
CETA funded Programs are to shift their emphasis from an Agency/De-
partment oriented Jobs Program to a more individualized Client Oriented
Program. In keeping with this new concept, the Blackhawk County Com-
prehensive Employment & Training Programs Office has decided to
discontinue the funding of part-time positions .
This decision is effective immediately and means that you and the
School System will need to make other funding arrangements if you
desire to continue the Crossing Guard positions .
Please contact me within the next two weeks regarding any plans to
either terminate or transition to regular City Payroll the above
mentioned individuals .
Our office will keep the three (3) participants in an administrative
hold capacity until your Department arrives at a decision.
If you have any questions concerning this matter you may contact me
at 291-4410/4411.
Sincerely,
4` r+..cr , ` '.' gyp.`L,A—_
