HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/16/1979 Finance Committee July 16, 1979 Mayor 's Conference Room City Hall - Waterloo, Iowa The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, met in the Mayor' s Con- ference Room in City Hall at 6 : 30 P.M. , on July 16, 1979 . Council Member Getty, Chairman, presiding . On roll call: Present: Dowie, Getty, Roehr, Wilharm. Absent: None . Chairman Getty called the meeting to order. Mayor Rooff reported two bids for street sweepers, Wayne and Elgin; all the Councilmen would get a list of options that are being considered. With trade- in for two the cost would be $55,420 . 00, but with some options , may run $70, 000 to $75, 000, and this would be covered by road use tax funds . The Committee approved this for Council next Monday. Tom Campbell, Finance Director, informed the Coiiuiiittee that the Fire and Police Pension will be ready for next Monday; estimate of 2. 2 million. Paul Huntley, Sewer Supt. reported spending $1400 to fix pump station at cattle congress, he had no choice in the matter, it needed immediate repair. Larry Dolan, Asst. Chief of Police , explained about the 8 men who individually drove and turned in mileage to the pistol shoot in Cedar Rapids ; the basic reason was different shifts, leaving and returning at different times , and with their equipment and some taking families, there was no room to ride together. Discussion followed and it was approved for the Finance Dept. to pay this bill . Chairman Getty called for additional business, there was none, and closed the meeting at 6 : 37 P.M.
