The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, met in the Mayor ' s Con-
ference Room in City Hall at 6 : 30 P .M. , on July 9 , 1979 .
Council Member Getty, Chairman, presiding.
On roll call: Present: Getty, Roehr, Wilharm. Absent: Dowie .
Chairman Getty called the meeting to order.
Police Chief Bemisdarfer reported his officers were wearing different colors
and various sizes of name tags, and requested new ones to conform with the
state, around 95 would be needed at $6 .00 each to come out of clothing allow-
ance . Chief Bemisdarfer requested $600 . 00 to renew a key training program with
roll call. Discussion followed and this was approved.
Larry Cunningham, Garage Supt . asked permission to purchase a rim for a spare
tire on 1972 road grader, which is in his budget, as it takes 3 hours to repair
a flat, often at overtime pay. Approved.
Chairman Getty asked if the eight policemen who individually drove to pistol
shoot in Cedar Rapids each turned in mileage? Chief Bemisdarfer is to check
and report back next week.
Chairman Getty called for additional business , there was none, and closed the
meeting at 6: 36 P .M.
