Moved by Culp, seconded by Blitsch to approve the April 30, 2009 Agenda as mailed. Motion carried.
Moved by Blitsch, seconded by Culp to approve the April 1, 2009 Minutes as mailed. Motion carried.

Updates
Signal Technician II-Traffic Operations
Advertised previously in 11/08. Received 11 resumes, invited 4 candidates to interview, but 2 cancelled. Other 2
interviewed, but we elected to not certify a list at that time. Advertised again and hope to receive some additional
good candidates. Will bring list to Commission for certification with the 2 names from the original testing process
plus any additional from second testing.
Park Maintenance II Forestry-Leisure Services
Previously advertised early in 2009. Received 15 resumes and interviewed 7 candidates but only 1 passed the
interview. The list was certified and this candidate offered the position, which he declined. Advertised again,
putting ad in a couple journals and some regional schools with urban forestry program hoping to get better group of
candidates.
NEW RIISINESS
The job description and testing criteria for Medical Officer-Fire Rescue was presented for approval. The
Human Resources Committee on 4/20/09 approved beginning the Civil Service process. There is a vacancy due
to a retirement. There are no changes in the job description or testing criteria. Moved by Blitsch, seconded by
Culp to approve the job description and testing criteria for Medical Officer-Fire Rescue. Motion carried.
The job description and testing criteria for Chief Electrical Inspector-Building Inspections was presented for
approval. The Human Resources Committee on 4/20/09 approved beginning the Civil Service process. There is
a vacancy due to a resignation. There are no changes in the job description or testing criteria. Moved by Culp,
seconded by Blitsch to approve the job description and testing criteria for Chief Electrical Inspector-Building
Inspections. Motion carried.
