Moved by Porter, seconded by Blitsch that the minutes of March 14, 2002, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. UNFINISHED BUSINESS The Civil Service List for Forestry Foreman for the City of Waterloo was presented for certification. There is a vacancy in the Leisure Services Department due to a resignation. The job description and testing criteria for Forestry Foreman was approved by the Human Resources Committee on February 4, 2002 and approved by the Civil Service Commission on March 14, 2002. The position was posted in all city departments. Two resumes were received. Two applicants were invited to interview on April 30, 2002. Bill Bachman, Todd Derifield and Cheryl Huddleston were on the interview panel. One candidate did not pass. The list includes one white male. Moved by Blitsch, seconded by Porter: We, the members of the Civil Service Committee, certify the following list of applicants, who are eligible based upon the examination process as set forth by the Civil Service Commission for the appointment to the position of Forestry Foreman for the City of Waterloo, Iowa. List shall exhaust upon appointment. CERTIFIED LIST Lawrence Harms Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The Civil Service List for Associate Planner for the City of Waterloo was presented for certification. There is a vacancy in Community Planning and Development due to a resignation. The job description and testing criteria for Associate Planner was approved by the Human Resources Committee on October 8, 2001 and approved by the Civil Service Commission on November 7, 2001. The position was advertised in the Courier, Job Service, Affirmative Action List, on the city website and posted in all city departments. Sixteen resumes were received. Thirteen applicants were invited to interview on May 20, 2002. Kevin Blanshan from INRCOG, Noel Anderson and Cheryl Huddleston were on the interview panel. Four candidates canceled their interviews, two no shows and two did not pass. The list includes one white female, two black males and two white males.
