HomeMy WebLinkAbout01/06/1983 CIVIL SERVICE January 6, 1983 4:00 p.m. Jury Room, City Hall Waterloo, Iowa Chairman Giesen called the meeting to order. Members present: Giesen, Eibey, Furgerson. Absent: Braun. Jim Rodemeyer, City Personnel Office, presented an update on the Police Sergeants test as established by the Commission at the December 20, 1982 meeting. Giesen called for any additional questions concerning the Police Sergeant exam. There were none. Officer Eddie Denton asked that the Commission allow him to take the Sergeants written exam on either the day before or the day after the date set. Denton continued that he has an appointment for his son at the Burn Center in Cinncinati , Ohio. He stated that the appointment has been set for a long time and it would be difficult to change. Motion by Eibey, seconded by Giesen to allow Officer Denton to take the Police Sergeants written exam on January 25, 1983 with details to be worked out with the City Personnel Department. Motion carried. Rodemeyer handed out proposed packets for the Police Recruit exam and highlighted some of the points the commission would want to pay special attention. See Attached. Discussion followed. Motion by Eibey, seconded by Giesen, to accept the attached procedures for the Police recruit test for the Waterloo Police Department and designate the Personnel Department and the City Clerk/Auditor to conduct the same. Motion carried. Giesen announced the next meeting of the Commission will be February 17, 1983 in City Hall , Waterloo, Iowa. Giesen called for any additional business. There was none.
