Members Present : Braun , Eibey, Giesen and Ferguson Others Present : Grimm, Kennedy , Mogle , Rodemeyer, Burger, Marbles and M. Temeyer It was moved by Eibey , seconded by Getty that the minutes of the Previous meeting be approved. Motion carried. Rodemeyer presented information relating to the Police Recruit Exam, stating that packets containing applications , etc. will be sent to those persons who have applications on file in the Personnel Department. Tentative recruit nights have been set for April 27 and May 17 which will allow recruits the opportunity to view the Police Department and its operations . Job ads will be sent to the Waterloo Courier , Des Moines Register and Minneapolis Tribune . Ferguson asked that a log be kept of where applicants hear about the recruit process which could then be used for future job postings . Discussion was heard relating to the minimum score of an individual on the Police Career Index Written Exam and Cultural -Fair Intelligence Test. Each will constitute 25 percent of the total test score. It was moved by Braun , seconded by Eibey that the minimum I . Q. score be 100. Motion carried. Due to the expiration of the two (2) year term of Chairman Braun , it was moved by Eibey, seconded by Giesen that Chairmanship be given to James Giesen (the member whose term expires first ) . Motion carried . Chairman of the Civil Service Commission is Mr. Giesen with term expiration in 1984. Chairman Giesen in the chair. Discussion was again brought to the floor regarding the minimum score for the Cultural -Fair Intelligence Test. It was moved by Braun , seconded by Eibey that the minimum score for the above stated test be 70. Motion carried. With no further business before the Commission , the meeting was adjourned.
