March 12 , 1981
Chairperson protem Randall called the meeting to order.
Members Present: Eibey, Randall , Fugerson.
Members Absent: Braun.
Others Present: Jim Rodemeyer, Roger Mogle , Michelle Temeyer, Vic
Kennedy, Attorney for the Commission and Larry P .
Burger, Clerk of the Commission .
Motion by Eibey to approve the minutes of the January 5 , 1981 , Civil
Service meeting. Seconded by Randall . Motion carried.
Jim . Rodemeyer presented List I and List II of individuals eligible
for certification for appointment to the Waterloo Fire Department .
Rodemeyer explained that this list would be in effect through March 4,
1982 . Rodemeyer continued that the Fire Chief may make appointment
from anywhere on the first list but must exhaust that list before
using the second list .
Discussion followed.
Motion by Randall to certify the following lists of individuals
as being eligible for appointment to the Waterloo Fire Department .
Seconded by Eibey. Motion carried:

Vic Kennedy brought the Commission up to date on the hearing to quash
the temporary injunction to hold police promotional exams .
Kennedy stated that a ruling issued by the Courts on January 19 , 1981 ,
overruled the motion to quash the injunction. The injunction states
that the Court feels it is better to maintain the status quo until
the case can be tried on its merits rather than reverse the former
ruling.
Discussion followed.
Kennedy reported that a hearing date has been set for April 9 , 1981 .
Randall called for any additional new business . There was none .
Motion by Eibey to adjourn. Seconded by Randall . Motion carried .
