HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/23/1980 Civil Service Commission September 23 , 1980 Chairman Braun called the meeting to order. Members Present : Braun, Eibey, Randall Absent : Furgerson Also present : Roger Mogle , Jim Rodemeyer, Vic Kennedy, Junior Grimm & Michelle Temeyer. The purpose of the meeting was to review applicants for the positions of Fire and Police Chiefs . The Commission agreed to first review the seven applications for Fire Chief. It was decided that the method of review of each would be for each Commissioner to review each application to check for compliance with the qualifications set out at an earlier meeting . The application/resume process is a pass-fail system. After review of the Fire Chief applications , it was moved by Randall , seconded by Eibey that all seven applications which include the names of Edward Paganelli, Gerald Olson, Virgil Cutsforth, Stanley Stapella, David Wickersheim, Melvin Cook & Eugene Fortune be considered as passing the first stage of the application process , as each applicant demonstrated the required extensive supervisory and administrative experience. The motion carried. The Commission then proceeded to the eighteen applications for police chief. It was moved by Randall , seconded by Eibey to fail Palmer Forney because he failed to demonstrate in his resume and application the prerequisite of experience in administration and supervision as required for the position. The motion carried. It was moved by Randall , seconded by Eibey to fail Robert Shafer because he failed to demonstrate in his resume and application the prerequisite of experience in administration and supervision as required for the position. The motion carried. It was moved by Randall , seconded by Eibey to fail Robert Greenlee because he failed to demonstrate in his resume and application the prerequisite of experience in administration and supervision as required for the position. The motion carried. It was moved by Randall , seconded by Eibey to fail William Hermansen because he failed to demonstrate in his resume and application the prerequsiite of experience in administration and supervision as required for the position. The motion carried. It was moved by Randall , seconded by Eibey to fail Bill Trammell because he failed to demonstrate in his resume and application the prerequisite of experience in administration and supervision as required for the position. The motion carried. It was moved by Randall , seconded by Eibey to fail Harry Helgeson because his application, resume , and attached letter did not demonstrate the required extensive experience in supervision and administration, and specifically, the experience which is itemized tells only the job description and fails to specify the particular type of experience he has had and therefore does not meet the requirements as set out . The motion carried. Myhr, Gil Hansen, Junior Grimm, Robert Maltas , Dennis Demon, Donald Kehoe , Lawerence Dolan, Arthur Murray, and Roger Shook be considered as passing the first stage of the application process , as each applicant demonstrated the required extensive supervisory and admin- istrative experience .
