RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIANCE TO NOISE
ORDINANCE REQUEST FROM CATHY KETTON, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE SPLASH OF COLOR BREAST
CANCER SUPPORT GROUP 11TH ANNUAL 3K WALK
FUNDRAISER, TO BE HELD OCTOBER 8, 2022 FROM 8:00
A.M. TO NOON, IN AND AROUND E. 4TH AND ADAMS
STREETS AND SULLIVAN PARK UNDER THE SHELTER,
INCLUDING THE USE OF MUSIC AND A PA SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, Cathy Ketton on behalf of the Splash of Color Breast Cancer Support Group
is requesting a variance to the Noise Ordinance on October 8, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. to noon, in
conjunction with the 1 lth Annual Splash of Color 3K Fundraiser Walk event, in and around E.
4th and Adams Streets and Sullivan Park under the Shelter, including the use of music and a PA
system, and
WHEREAS, said event will exceed the limits of Ordinance No. 3094, Noise Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of Cathy Ketton on behalf of the Splash of Color Breast
Cancer Support Group for a variance to the Noise Ordinance, on October 8, 2022, from 8:00 a.m.
to noon, in conjunction with the 11th Annual Splash of Color 3K Fundraiser Walk event, in and
around E. 4th and Adams Streets and Sullivan Park under the Shelter, including the use of music
and a PA system, be granted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of August 2022.
