Motion carried. Moved by Luce, seconded by Blitsch to approve the Minutes for March 13, 1997 and the Transcript from the March 13, 1997 hearing as mailed. Motion carried. UNFINISHED BUSINESS The Civil Service List for Equipment Operator III-Street Department was presented for certification. The job description and testing criteria were approved by the Commission in October. There are two vacancies. Five resumes were received and all candidates passed both an equipment test and oral interview. The equipment test was judged by Herb Thompson, Larry Davis, and Bill Federspiel from the IDOT. The oral interviews were conducted by Herb Thompson, Larry Davis, Bill Federspiel, and Cheryl Huddleston. Moved by Blitsch, seconded by Luce: We, the members of the Civil Service Commission, certify the following list of applicant(s) , who are eligible based upon the examination process as set forth by the Civil Service Commission for the appointment to the position of Equipment Operator III for the City of Waterloo, Iowa Street Department. The Civil Service List for Equipment Operator I-Parks Department was presented for certification. There are four vacancies. The job title of this position will probably be changing and the change will include those employees presently classified as Park Maintenance I . The position was advertised in the Courier, listed with Job Service, a notice sent to the agencies and organizations on the Affirmative Action list and posted in all City departments. Twenty-two resumes were received and ten candidates met the minimum qualifications. An equipment test and oral interviews were conducted. One candidate did not pass the equipment test and one candidate did not have a high school diploma/GED. The equipment test was judged by Rick Curran, Scott Clement, Gary McDonald, and Lynn Leitz. The oral interviews were conducted by Rick Curran, Mark Cutsforth, Tom Klein, and Cheryl Huddleston.
