UNFINISHED BUSINESS The Civil Service List for Utility Operator-Street Department was presented for certification. This is a new position created to allow the City flexibility in use of some employees in Streets , Sanitation, Parks , and during snow and flood emergencies . The plan is to initially appoint five Utility Operators . The job description and testing criteria were approved by the Commission on November 17 , 1994 . The position was posted as a promotional and ten employees applied by the deadline date of December 2 , 1994 . An oral interview panel composed of Russ Pritchard-Black Hawk County, Russ Frisch-IDOT , Sue Vaughn-Operation Pride and Cheryl Huddleston interviewed the candidates on December 19 , 1994 . The list has ten candidates including five protected class ( BM ) . The job description and testing criteria were approved by the Commission on November 17 , 1994 . The position was advertised in the local newspaper, listed with Job Service of Iowa, a notice sent to the local union representative and to the agencies and organizations on the Affirmative Action List , and posted in all City departments . Nine resumes have been received but have not yet been reviewed. Secretary-Part Time-Planning Department The position is open due to a transfer . The job description and testing criteria were approved by the Commission on November 17 , 1994 . The position was advertised in the local newspaper , listed with Job Service of Iowa, a notice sent to the agencies and organizations on the Affirmative Action List , and posted in all City departments .
