Moved by Juon , seconded by Culp to approve the Agenda for October
13 , 1992 and the Minutes from September 15 , 1992 as mailed .
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
The Civil Service List for Equipment Operator II-Street I)epart.ment
was presented for certification. The position was posted in all
depart ments as a promotional with a deadline of August 7 , 1992 .
Twelve employees submitted resumes , but three did not meet the
minimum qualifications and four candidates withdrew when they were
advised the list, would not be used to make omit -of-rank assignments .
An equipment operation test was held on September 9 , 1992 and oral
interview were held on September 10 , 1992 with a panel composed of
G:t.ry Scher ) horn, Steve Scanlon , and Cheryl Iluddleston . All five
candidates passed both tests . The Civil Service list has two black
males , one white female , and two white males . Moved by Murphy ,
seconded by Culp:
We , the members the Civil Service Commission , certify the
following list of applicants , who are eligible based upon the
examination process as set forth by the Civil Service Commission
for the appointment to the position of Equipment. Operator 1. 1 -Street
Department for the City of Waterloo , Iowa . Appointment( s ) shall be
made from this list for the next two years (October 15 , 1992 -
October 1 4 , 1994 ) .

The Civil Service List; for Golf Course Maintenance I and a letter
requesting permission to lure from a promotional list. with less
i.ha11 three names was presented for certification. The position was
posted as a promotional to give an opportunity for any seasonal
Park Maintenance I employees to apply . Although Golf Course
Maintenance 1 is also a seasonal position , they usually work a
longer• season . Two resumes were received and oral interviews were
conducted on October 12 , 1992 by a panel composed of Bill Bachman,
Dean Fagerliad, and Cheryl Ilnddieston. One candidate withdrew
after talking to the panel about the ,job. Moved by Murphy,
seconded by Culp:

following list; of appiicant.( s ) , who are eligible based upon the

Operator . This job notice was approved by the Commission on
