UNFINISHED BUSINESS The Civil Service List for Sewer Maintenance Worker was presented for certification. The position was advertised in the Waterloo Courier, listed with Job Service of Iowa, and a notice sent to the organizations and agencies on the Affirmative Action list. Thirty-five resumes were received, but the decision was made early this year to delay further action until the reorganization of Water Pollution and Sewer was completed. A review of the resumes indicated only eleven candidates met the minimum qualifications and requirements. Oral interviews were conducted on August 13 , 1991 with a panel composed of Leonard Zmolek, Gary Schellhorn, and Cheryl Huddleston. Two candidates failed the oral interview, and there were 2 no shows. There is one black male on the list. Moved by Murphy, seconded by Culp: We, the members of the Civil Service Commission, certify the following list of applicants, who are eligible based upon the examination process as set forth by the Civil Service Commission for the appointment to the position of Sewer Maintenance Worker for the City of Waterloo, Iowa. Appointments shall be made from this list for the next year (September 17, 1991 - September 16, 1992) . CERTIFIED LIST Todd Gaede Webster Andrews Robert Morelock Todd Patterson Richard Collins Wayne Even Arthur Oedekerk Motion carried. The Civil Service List for Medical Officer--Fire Rescue was presented for certification. The position was posted as a promotional at all Fire Stations. Four resumes were received but one candidate withdrew prior to oral interviews. Oral interviews were conducted on August 27 , 1991 with a panel composed of Frank Cooley from the Des Moines Fire Department, Ric Jones from the Dubuque Fire Department and Cheryl Huddleston. There are three vacancies. This is the position that officially replaced the "crewleader" position discussed earlier in the year.
