UNFINISHED BUSINESS The Civil Service List for Fire Lieutenant was presented for certification. The position was posted as a promotional at all Fire Stations for one month. Twenty-eight resumes were received. A panel evaluation was conducted by fire management personnel on April 17, 1990. A written examination was administered by Lyle Alberts on April 25, 1990. Jim Rodemeyer presented updates on the following positions: Fire Fighter - two hundred thirty-two resumes were received. An IPMA written examination was administered by Lyle Alberts on April 11, 1990 with one hundred twenty-three candidates taking the test. Forty-seven candidates have been invited to participate in the physical agility examination to be administered by Waterloo Schools personnel on May 19, 1990 at West High School. This group includes two black males, one black female, and five white females. Tentative plans are to conduct orals the second or third week of June. Equipment Operator I/Street Department - on hold until finished with bidding out process for Sanitation. Equipment Operator II/Street Department - also on hold. Therapeutic Recreation Specialist - advertised in the Courier, with Job Service, and the affirmative action listings. Twenty-three resumes were received with eighteen judged qualified. Oral interviews are scheduled for May 16-17, 1990 with a panel composed of Joe Wilson-UNI Rec Department, Tom Reardon, and Cheryl Huddleston. NEW BUSINESS The job description and testing criteria for Park Maintenance II-Forestry was presented for review. This position vacancy is a result of the reorganization and has been vacant for a significant period of time. It will be posted as a promotional. The job description and testing criteria for Associate Engineer- Engineering Department was presented for review. Notices have already been sent to regional engineering schools. Moved by Murphy, seconded by Juon to approve the job description and testing criteria for Associate Engineer-Engineering Department. Motion carried. The job description and testing criteria for Police Officer Recruit was presented for review. A job notice has been FAXED to the Army/Air Force Times. There are a couple changes from the previous notice.
