Police Chief Koehrsen outlined for the Commission a three-fold plan he hopes will help in recruiting minorities: 1) target local community leaders and encourage them to become involved in the recruitment; 2) spend time at local educational institutions such as high schools, UNI and Hawkeye Tech, speaking on police work as a career; 3 ) target military through the help of local recruiters. The next Civil Service Commission Meeting will be scheduled at a later date. With no further business the meeting was adjourned at 4:55 p.m. Larry P. Burger City Clerk/Auditor
