RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIANCE TO NOISE
ORDINANCE REQUEST FROM CEDAR VALLEY
PRIDEFEST, IN CONJUNCTION WITH CEDAR VALLEY
PRIDEFEST 2022, TO BE HELD ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 26,
2022, FROM 1:00 P.M. - 12:00 A.M. AND SATURDAY,
AUGUST 27, 2022 FROM 8:00 A.M. - 12:00 A.M., INCLUDING
STREET CLOSURES, LIVE MUSICAL, THEATRICAL
PERFORMANCES AND THE USE OF A PA SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, Cedar Valley Pridefest, Inc., is requesting a variance to the Noise Ordinance
from August 26, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. and August 27, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00
a.m., in conjunction with the Cedar Valley Pridefest 2022 event, to be held in the 300 and 400
block of W. 4th Street and the 500 and 600 block of Jefferson Street, including the use of a PA
system, and
WHEREAS, said event will exceed the limits of Ordinance No. 3094, Noise Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of Cedar Valley Pridefest, Inc., for a variance to the Noise
Ordinance, from August 26, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. and August 27, 2022 from 8:00
a.m. - 12:00 a.m., in conjunction with the Cedar Valley Pridefest 2022 event, to be held in the
300 and 400 block of W. 4th Street and the 500 and 600 block of Jefferson Street, including the
use of a PA system, is hereby approved.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of August 2022.
