RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIANCE TO NOISE
ORDINANCE REQUEST FROM DONELL RIVERS, ON BEHALF
OF BROTHAZ BARBER SHOP, IN CONJUNCTION WITH A
VOTER READY RALLY, TO BE HELD ON SUNDAY,
SEPTEMBER 11, 2022, FROM 3:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M., ON
ALMOND STREET BETWEEN E. 4TH AND IOWA STREET,
INCLUDING SPEAKERS, LIVE PERFORMERS, A DJ, MUSIC
WITH THE USE OF A PA SYSTEM, AND VENDORS.
WHEREAS, the Donell Rivers, on behalf of Brothaz Barber Shop, is requesting a
variance to the Noise Ordinance on Sunday, September 11, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., on
Almond Street between E. 4th and Iowa Street, including speakers, live performers, a DJ, music
with the use of a PA system, and vendors, in conjunction with the Voter Ready Rally event, and
WHEREAS, said event will exceed the limits of Ordinance No. 3094, Noise Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of Donell Rivers, on behalf of Brothaz Barber Shop, to
hold the Voter Ready Rally Event September 11, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., on Almond
Street between E. 4th and Iowa Street, including speakers, live performers, a DJ, music with the
use of a PA system, and vendors, is hereby approved.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of August 2022.
