Members present: Chairperson Dowie, Miller.
Absent: Seeber.
It was moved by Miller, seconded by Dowie that the Agenda, as proposed, be
approved. Motion carried.
Item No. 1 -- Authorization to seek bids on a speaker system for the Council
Chamber.
City Clerk/Auditor Larry Burger reported that the Building and Grounds
Committee had discussed the proposed speaker system for the City Council
Chambers and has chosen to delay any action on it until further information is
received regarding ceiling mount speakers versus wall mount speakers. Burger
continued that he would request the Finance Committee to take the same action
by tabling the motion.
Moved by Miller, seconded by Dowie that the authorization to seek bids on the
speaker system for City Hall Council Chambers be received, placed on file and
tabled until additional information is received. Motion carried .
Item No. 2 -- Authorization to accept bids for fitness screening for Waterloo
Fire Department members.
Division Chief Magsamen reported that on accepting proposals for fitness
screening, Covenant Medical Center was the low bidder, and he would recommend
that we accept the low bid from Covenant Medical Center for $13.20 per man,
including Alternate 1.
Moved by Miller, seconded by Dowie to authorize the Fire Department to accept
the bid from Covenant Medical Center for fitness screening for all Fire
Department members at a cost of $13.20 per man, including Alternate 1, be
received, placed on file and approved. Motion carried.
Moved by Miller, seconded by Dowie that bills payment be approved as contained
in Schedule A918, pp. 1-37, totalling $417,071.19, dated October 19, 1987.
Motion carried.
With no other business before the Committee, the meeting was adjourned.
